Whisk away to a new product world

Birkenstock invites visitors to imm cologne for a lie down

For more than 240 years now, Birkenstock has stood for high-quality orthopaedic footbeds that offer healthy wearability. But since the debut of its sleep systems at imm cologne in 2017, Birkenstock has also championed restful sleep. And it will demonstrate its expertise in this field once again at the upcoming interiors show in Cologne. The company will whisk visitors away to a product world that makes the brand tangible across an exhibition space of more than 500 square metres. Embedded in a blend of well-being and product flair, fair visitors will have the opportunity to test the entire Birkenstock product universe, with a focus on lying and sleeping relaxation. The beds will be staged in natural settings – in a forest, on water and in a green space – for visitors to try out.

At the upcoming imm, Birkenstock will be showing the Zurich model, a solid wood bed in manufactory quality. In the future, it can be extended into a family bed with a supplementary baby bed (here as a design study). Photo: Birkenstock

In addition to the current and new beds, slatted frames and mattresses, visitors will be able to test the natural cosmetics range Birkenstock Natural Skin Care. The trade fair stand will naturally also feature the brand’s cult sandals, as well as enclosed shoes and accessories. In a laid-back atmosphere, visitors will be able to explore the entire product range with its characteristic natural materials – cork, felt and their fellows are recurring themes across all the designs.

Just like the world-famous footbed, the Birkenstock sleep systems boast tangible ergonomics and a high degree of functionality. The sleep systems feature special point-elastic adjustment, which the company says relieves as much strain from the body as possible. A specially developed overlay made from natural latex and cork granulate boasts outstanding cushioning properties. A wide array of slatted frames and mattresses offer personal lying comfort. Birkenstock’s manufacturing partner for its sleep systems is ADA, based in Styria, Austria.

The company’s expanded line-up of sleep systems and beds will be on display in Hall 10.2, Stand M011.
