GESA sauna by Gesa Hansen

Japandi style in sauna design: GESA sauna by Gesa Hansen wins over living spaces

Scandinavian cosiness meets Japanese minimalism and gives the tradition of sauna bathing a completely new, homely character: with the GESA sauna by Gesa Hansen, KLAFS presents a new interpretation of the Finnish sauna. This exclusive design statement, with many details previously unknown in sauna construction, was created in collaboration with the Parisian designer Gesa Hansen.

The unmistakable character of the GESA sauna is manifested in the clear lines, the elaborate craftsmanship and the interplay of contrasts. Inspired by Yakisugi wood, a type of wood traditionally charred in Japan, the sauna features deep black wall panels. The discreet white wooden surfaces of the benches and the cladding of the sauna heater harmonise with the black look. Another signature element is the skilfully handcrafted 3D herringbone pattern on the ceiling, which invites you to dream when you look up in the sauna. The herringbone pattern is also continued on the walls, which are complemented by large insulating glass fronts. These provide a high degree of visual expanse and enable a more sustainable sauna experience thanks to optimised thermal insulation. At the same time, they also allow the boundary between the sauna and the living space to merge harmoniously: the GESA sauna thus becomes part of the interior, where you can find your very own inner balance.

Despite the generous spaciousness, an externally connected shelving system creates a feeling of calm, retreat and intimacy. This serves as a lifestyle library for personal decorative elements and gives the GESA sauna a personalised touch.

The harmony of the design concept is also continued in MOLLIS®'s own "GESA" line. The sauna mats and cushions, characterised by the artistic Shibori batik technique, perfect the spa experience with their comfort and cosy flair.
